Short on time but not on curiosity? In five days you see the two great capitals of the pharaohs: Memphis, with the pyramids and the Sphinx beside today's Cairo, and Thebes, the city of temples and royal tombs we now call Luxor.

Short flights do the travelling for you, so your days are spent where it matters: inside the Pyramid of Khafre, before Tutankhamun's gold, among the columns of Karnak and in the painted tombs of the Valley of the Kings. The perfect first taste of Egypt.

Itinerary

  1. On arrival, your personal assistant is waiting for you, helps you with the visa and airport formalities, and takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

    • Pyramids & Sphinx
    • Grand Egyptian Museum

    A morning on the Giza Plateau: the Great Pyramid of Khufu, a walk inside the Pyramid of Khafre to its burial chamber, the panoramic viewpoint over the pyramids, and the Sphinx with its Valley Temple. Lunch with a view of the pyramids, then the Grand Egyptian Museum, where the complete treasure of Tutankhamun is displayed together for the first time.

    • Karnak
    • Luxor Temple

    An early flight to Luxor. Your guide takes you through the forest of columns at Karnak and along the Avenue of Sphinxes to Luxor Temple. Lunch on the Nile, then check in at your hotel.

    • Valley of the Kings
    • Hatshepsut

    Start with an optional hot-air balloon at sunrise. Then three painted tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the terraced temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Evening flight back to Cairo.

  5. Breakfast, then your personal assistant takes you to the airport and helps you with check-in.
