About this trip

Two cities, two worlds. Cairo gives you the pyramids, the Sphinx and Tutankhamun's gold. Three hours north, Alexandria opens onto the Mediterranean: the city founded by Alexander the Great and ruled by Cleopatra.

Go underground into the catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, see Pompey's Pillar and the Roman Theatre, visit the new Library of Alexandria and the Qaitbay Citadel built with stones from the ancient lighthouse, eat fresh seafood by the sea, and end with a last evening in Khan el-Khalili.
